Our Elders

Cameron Burns

  • Cameron and his wife, Brittney, have been married for over 16 years and are blessed with two wonderful boys, Shamus (12) and Magnus (8). Since 2022, they have also opened their home to foster children. They have had the incredible privilege of loving and raising their current foster daughter, Ruby (2), since infancy, and they are actively hoping to adopt her into their family. Whether raising their biological or foster children, Cameron and Brittney's core focus is to guide them in the knowledge of Christ and teach them to love and obey God.

    Raised in a Christian home, Cameron benefited from strong, godly examples: his father served as an Elder for most of his childhood, and his mother was heavily involved in women’s ministries for decades. Although he came to faith as a young boy, his relationship with the Lord truly began to deepen during junior high. By high school, Cameron fully committed his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized.

    Professionally, Cameron utilizes his mechanical engineering background as the Engineering Manager at Winchester Interconnect, Micro in Orange. In this role, he leads an engineering team dedicated to designing ruggedized electrical connectors for military and aerospace customers.

    Since making Foothills Church their home in 2018, Cameron and Brittney have been deeply grateful to serve across several ministries. Cameron currently leads the Welcome Team, actively participates in men’s ministries, and serves alongside Brittney in the children's ministry. Their family truly cherishes the Bible studies, rich fellowship, and deep sense of community they have found at Foothills.

Jim Berg

  • Jayne and Jim have been married for 44 years. They met at UCLA and continue to be UCLA Basketball fans in spite of many disappointments. Jim graduated with a BS in Chemistry in 1980 and worked for over 38 years in Sales and Sales Management of Ingredients to the Food and Beverage Industry. They have 3 kids (Jamie, Christopher and Andrew) and 7 grandkids and are very blessed to have most of them living within 20 minutes of home. They started attending Foothills Church in 1998 after moving back into the area from PA. Their kids all attended Foothills and were involved in the Youth ministry before heading off to college. During their time at Foothills, Jim has been involved in several ministries including CE, Billy Graham Phone Ministry, Leading Life Groups, Worship, AV (livestreaming), Giving and Finance Committee and have served as an elder on and off since 2016. Jim rotated off the elder board in July 2025 but has remained involved in Giving and the Finance Committee. Jim has a passion for small group / life group ministry and building / encouraging others in the body. One of my favorite sections of the Bible is Romans 8:31-39.

Steve Roquemore

  • Steve considers himself very blessed to have been raised by loving, Christian parents and he came to know Jesus as his Savior at an early age.

    He and Judy married and moved to Orange County and started attending Foothills Church in Jan of 1989.  Through the years, he has been involved as an Elder, Life Group leader, and in various ministries and studies, and facilities, etc. 

    His favorite titles are Husband, Father, and Grandfather.  He and Judy have three children and six grandchildren.

    Steve pursued careers in Electrical, Mechanical, Purchasing, Engineering, and Construction Management.  He currently is a Technical/Electrical Specialist at LAX.

    He loves Foothills Church and the Foothills family.  He especially appreciates the commitment to the Gospel and the preaching and teaching of God’s word.

    One of his favorite verses is:

    Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Roger Horning

  • Roger Horning, became the Lead Pastor at Foothills Church in 2019. He became a Christian during the last week of his senior year in high school and began working with junior high students in his church youth group almost immediately. Michele came to know the Lord as an adult when a co-worker shared the gospel with her. Roger and Michele met in their 20’s when they served together as leaders in their church’s youth ministry. They have four children, all who have served at Foothills Church.

    Roger is a dedicated Bible teacher with a clear passion for ministering to families. His top ministry priorities are preaching, discipleship, and leadership development. Roger holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible with an emphasis in youth ministry from The Master's University, a Masters of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary, and he is ordained in the Evangelical Free Church of America. He and his wife have been serving in full-time ministry for more than half his life.

    Favorite Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Daren Fennell

  • Daren grew up in Santa Clarita, CA as the middle child in a family of five. God graciously blessed him with a loving home. But it wasn’t until the age of 19, after a period of intense searching, that Daren came to trust in Christ for the removal of his sin-guilt. He has been walking with Jesus for over two decades and aims to steward the good gifts God has given him.

    Daren holds an Associate’s degree in Mathematics, a Bachelor’s degree in Bible Exposition, and a Master of Divinity from The Master’s University. His work experience includes 10 years on church staff overseeing Children’s Education and Community Groups, and teaching Math and Bible at a Christian school. He then spent 8 years as a Project Manager and Chief Operations Officer at a software development company, called Fishermen Labs. He is currently the Associate Pastor at Foothills Church.

    Daren’s ministry experience includes leading Bible studies, overseeing a youth outreach program, leading Christian Education and Community Group programs, as well as participating in mission trips to Haiti, Canada, and India. At Foothills Church, Daren has been involved in Bible studies, Welcome Team ministry, men’s events, and also plays drums for the worship team.

    Daren believes that Jesus will build his church, and that it is a privilege to play a small part in this great work!

Roger Horning

Lead Pastor

  • Roger Horning, became the Lead Pastor at Foothills Church in 2019. He has been serving in full-time ministry for more than half his life. Canon Baldridge

Music Director

  • Canon Baldridge became the Worship Leader at Foothills Church in 2022. He has been playing music since he was 6 years old, and began playing for church on Wednesday nights at his childhood church when we has 14. Since then, he has served in various musical areas at a number of churches and ministries. Canon came to know the Lord at a young age as his parents faithfully disciplined him and shared the gospel with him. Along with a calling to serve in music ministry, he has a heart for evangelism, service to the body, and teaching. Canon is from Texas, and will probably let you know if you talk to him for any significant period of time. He also had the great fortune of marrying the most beautiful girl in the world, Julianne, who happens to be Roger Horning’s daughter. She is also contributing to the worship ministry at Foothills by her gifts in administration, leadership, musical ability, and wisdom.

Daren Fennell

Executive Pastor

  • Daren started attending Foothills Church in 2021, and became the Associate Pastor early in 2024. He grew up in Santa Clarita, CA, and came to trust Christ for the removal of his sin-guilt at 19. He has been following Jesus for over two decades and strives to steward the gifts God has given him. Daren holds degrees in Mathematics, Bible Exposition, and a Master of Divinity. He spent 10 years on church staff overseeing Children’s Education and Community Groups, and teaching Math and Bible at a Christian school. He also served as a Project Manager and COO at Fishermen Labs. Currently, he is the Associate Pastor at Foothills Church. His ministry has included leading Bible studies, youth outreach, Christian Education, and mission trips. At Foothills, he is active in Bible studies, the Welcome Team, men’s events, and loves to offer up worship as a drummer for the worship team.

Justin Werth

Youth Director

  • Justin Werth began leading our youth ministry in 2022. He has been coming to Foothills Church since October of 2020 and loves serving with his wife in the youth program. He grew up in a Christian home and committed his life to Christ on his 23 birthday. Since then, Justin has been joyfully serving and following the Lord. He has a passion to reach students for Christ and disciple them to know and live out their commitment to Christ. Justin is energetic, encouraging and his desire is to serve Foothills Church by ministering to parents and students. He has two wonderful daughters and when he’s not serving at church, he works as a High School English and Drama teacher.

Camille Zimmerman

Children’s Director

  • Camille joined staff at Foothills in 2017. In 2021 she took a couple years off and is back serving in this position. She has a BA in Child Development and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from UC Santa Barbara. Camille has experience with children’s ministry, homeschooling, charter schools, and private schools. Prior to joining the staff at Foothills, she was a mentor mom for MOPS and was involved with a LifeGroup at Foothills for several years. Camille and her husband, Tom, have been married since 1989. They have three grown children: Wes, Matt, and Maddie.
