  3. Sin is heard in what we say (Rom 3:13–14)

  4. Sin is shown in what we do (Rom 3:15–18)

  5. Sin is exposed by the law (Rom 3:19–20)

Questions: (Use, modify, be selective according to the needs of your LifeGroup)

  1. We all want a powerful Gospel message.  Why are some tempted to change the message to make it “more palatable?”  On the other hand, Paul shares his commitments in 2 Cor 4:1-5. Do you think he was ever tempted to change the message (vs. 1-2)? When people didn’t accept the gospel, what did Paul attribute it to (vs. 3-4)? What did Paul double down on when this happened (vs. 5)?

  2. Why is it important for us to exercise wisdom, good character, and genuine love when we share the gospel? (2 Cor 2:14-17; Col 4:3-6; 1 Peter 3:15-16)

  3. In Romans 3:9-20, are there any statements made that are hard to believe or that don’t match your perception of unbelievers? How do you get to the place where you trust God’s word over your perception (Matt 22:29; John 17:17)?

  4. If God knew Romans 3:10-18 about you and chose to save you anyway, how does that lead to spiritual comfort? (Luke 19:10; Rom 5:8-10; 8:1; John 6:37; 10:27-29; Acts 16:14; Eph 2:4-5; Jude 1:24-25)
